This practice is questionable. When it comes to fireplace and chimney safety and being treated honestly, many wonder: Who can you trust?

I do not perform any repairs or offer a bid after an inspection. I am insured by F.R.E.A. for E & O and General Liability. I also carry a Certificate of Indemnity to protect you for referring me. Only F.I.R.E. trained technicians are insured by F.R.E.A. to perform chimney and fireplace inspections. My commitment to earning your business is simple. If you have a client that is purchasing a home with a fireplace or masonry heating system chimney I will provide them with accurate information and a detailed report with pictures of any damage. The report will be e-mailed to your client within 24 hours of the inspection, most often the same day. If requested, a copy of the report will also be e-mailed to you for your file.

It is important that you advise your client that the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommends all chimneys be internally evaluated for damage upon the sale or transfer of the property. If you are not trained and certified to perform this inspection don't do it! Your E&O insurance may not cover you if you make a mistake. Check with your carrier.

The fee for this inspection is $199.00. Additional flues $50.00 each. A complete Level II inspection is $225.00. When in doubt about the conditions you observed during your fireplace/chimney inspection don't just recommend a chimney sweep, insist a F.I.R.E certified technician perform the inspection.
